Hip Hop Dance

Hip Hop was started in New York City during the 60’s and 70’s. It comes from the styles of African dancing. Hip Hop was started by a guy named DJ Herc when he moved to Brooklyn and started an informal dance career. Hip hop has always been an informal way of performing since the beginning. In the 1980’s is when hip hop began to evolve into what it is now. In modern times, hip hop is performed on stage. Hip Hop began to formalize in the 1990’s.
